It's time for Democrats to
win more elections in Denton County
What a great way
to kick off the 2026 election cycle!
On Sunday, November 9th, Denton Together and UNT College Democrats held an exciting event at University of North Texas in Denton, TX at the Lyceum Theater. Several hundred attendees were in attendance to see Texas State Senator Nathan Johnson and former Galveston Mayor Joe Jaworski face off in their first debate, moderated by Jason Whitely of WFAA's "Inside Texas Politics." The debate was energetic and lively and addressed many of the important issues facing the State of Texas and specifically, the position of State Attorney General.
Following the debate, former U.S. Congressman Colin Allred sat down on stage for a 1:1 conversation with Jason Whitely. The Congressman answered questions for nearly 40 minutes to the delight of those in attendance.
There was a very strong showing of current candidates for a variety of races in North Texas, and they were introduced to the audience.
Denton Together and UNT College Democrats were excited to partner to bring you the first Democratic primary debate in Denton County!
